SITAR

TANPURA

The tanpura is a long-necked plucked STRING INSTRUMENT, originating from INDIA  found in various forms in Indian music. The tanpura is a drone instrument of Indian music common in both the Hindustani and the Carnatic systems. Tanpura is used in classical folk music and it has a hollow body .the best wood to make tanpura is tun-wood, teak wood is also been used to make this.
